I am Kathleen Davidson (she/her/hers), a Licensed Occupational Therapist and parent, based in Los Angeles, California. My approach to supporting children and families is holistic, client-centered, and grounded by evidenced-based, best practices. I have worked in different environments, including outpatient clinic, in-home, and school-based settings.
When I was a young mother, my child received early intervention services, including OT. The experience was profound, so I set upon a path to help others in the same way. I completed my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science at the University of Southern California, studying neuroscience, behavioral neuroscience, sensory processing and integration theory, motor control and motivational interviewing.
I could not forsee how my first career as a professional dancer, choreographer and teacher would align with my current practice. Now I see a beautiful through-line: I have always been captivated by movement, sensation, perception, creativity, and communication. I am passionate about creating safe, supportive spaces for all individuals and helping children and families thrive. LGBTQ+ allied and neurodiversity-affirming, I am honored to meet a child wherever they may be and work together towards increasing independence and participation in meaningful activities.
Some of my meaningful occupations are spending time with family, traveling, and watching great films, music and dance performances.
