Welcome to OT! I am Kathleen Davidson, (she/her), a licensed Occupational Therapist and parent. My approach is client-centered and grounded by evidenced-based, best practices. I have worked in many interdisciplinary environments, including outpatient mental health, in-home early intervention and public elementary schools.
When I was a young mother, my child received early intervention services, including OT. The experience was profound, so I set upon a path to help others in the same way.
I completed my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science at the University of Southern California, studying neuroscience, behavioral neuroscience, sensory processing and integration theory, motor control and motivational interviewing.
I could not foresee how my first career as a professional dancer, choreographer and teacher would align with my current practice. Now I see a beautiful through-line: I have always been captivated by movement, sensation, perception, creativity, and communication.
I am passionate about creating safe, supportive spaces for all individuals and helping children and families thrive. LGBTQ+ allied and neurodiversity affirming, I am honored to meet a child wherever they may be and work together towards increasing independence and participation in meaningful activities.
Some of my favorite occupations are spending time with family, traveling, watching great films, music and dance performances.
